My pen-pal tells me here in Canada that on Monday morning he is going for a "profile" with Nexus insurance here in Canada. He says his starting earnings will be $70,000 + and commission. Says that this insurance company deals with mainly commercial building/hallmark insurance. Is he full of BS??
| Answer: Really your friend is telling the truth. Successful insurance agents who specialize in commercial insurance make at least 6 figures. Most of them do not have salaries though. The endless majority are paid on commission only. They are usually paid about 50% of the commission on new business and a smaller commission on renewals, i.e. they get spare income. Your friend is probably interviewing for an entry level position that is providing a secure salary initially and will phase out |
