In expectation of an injury settlement offer regarding a slip and fall injury within a grocery store, I am interested in the ramifications of accepting a settlement. Our medical insurance suite will be reimbursed upon settlement for expenses they have paid to date. My concern is will our medical insurance pay any further claims related to this mayhem once we have accepted a settlement from the grocer. Our attorney is all in favor of accepting a settlement and does not foresee a problem with the insurance
Answer: There is an old slogan in the law that the worst thing that can happen to you is losing a lawsuit. The second worst is winning one. If you dispose now, you won't have to go through what could be years of litigation. If you don't think your attorney is right, do some research--check with your insurance company to see how they'd handgrip future claims. How much money will your lawyer get from the settlement? How much is the settlement in relation to what it may cost for further medical treatment?
Insurance Settlement?
Question by lifelvr2004 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Been working on an fluke settlement. The one area that insurance company is fighting is a shoulder injury. However, recently I took the time to get an MRI and found a zip. They are stilling calling it questionable and what not but I know that is the game that is played. But even at that, they raised their offer from $13,000 to $16,000. This tolerably much covered the cost of the MRI, doctors visit, and a little to boot. BEFORE the MRI I had offered to settle at $18,000. I told them I still would
Answer:
I'm fa the same situation now. You are entitled to recover all losses associated with your accident. I would recommend that you contact a derogatory injury attorney and have them deal with the ins. company. They typically will be more willing to play ball when they positive that you are really willing to take them to court. The insurance company does not want to go to court because if they loose it will start the door to other cases and additional cost. My attorney is seeking 5 X the medical

When You Get An Insurance Settlement After A Fire, Can You Use The Money To Buy A New Home Instead Of Rebuild?
Question by Edgar C | Posted in Insurance
up on caught on fire . No one was in it. They believe they will be offered a settlement by their insurance company. Do they have to use it to rebuild, or can they demolish the burned house and traffic in the lot and then buy another house somewhere else?
Answer: You do NOT have to rebuild. HOWEVER. The primary settlement is only for the DEPRECIATED value of the house, MINUS any locally required demolition costs. So you don't get a check up on for the full amount. Also, if you had a mortgage on the house, the mortgagee will be included in that check.
So you CAN take the depreciated value, clear the lot and then get the demolition holdback, shop-girl the lot and buy another house. But in that case, the insurance company pays out a lot
Can A Mortgage Company Keep Money From A Homeowners Insurance Settlement Without Paying Contractor?
Question by michelle kramis | Posted in Insurance
I employment for a contracting company and recently we changed the roof on a house that was damaged by a storm. The insurance convention sent a check to pay for the work done on the roof. The check was drawn out to the owner of the house and the mortgage guests, the owner told the mortgage company to keep the money from the insurance settlement to pay for his past mortgage payments and now the proprietress has not paid us (the contractor) and the mortgage company refuses to hand over the proceeds
Answer: organize your contractor's lien on the property immediately. [you did file the necessary building permits and forms, yes?]
then sue. you point in court is that because your work was necessary to get the house into salable condition, your lien should be paid before the mortgage, only as if the mortgage company had foreclosed and hired you to repair the property.
and get a competent attorney -- who ever drew up your put forth contracts seems to be a fool. your
