Some one hit my bumper in a hit and run. I indigence the car fixed ASAP. If I pay for it now, will my insurance reimburse me later?

I had a principal plumbing disaster at my house. My insurance will probably cover most of it after a $1000 deductible. Do I have to pay them $1000 bread upfront for the reimbursement to "kick in" or do they simply deduct $1000 from whatever they will reimburse me for?
