Can You Change The Beneficiary Of A Life Insurance Policy After The Policy Holders Death?

Okay here's the do business. My mother has a group life insurance policy through her employer and in 1998 named her brother as the primary beneficiary since me and my fellow-creature were minors. We were named as the contigent beneficiaries. She has since passed and never changed the policy over to us who are now college aged. My uncle doesn't lack to get paid and then launder the money to us so to speak. Is there anyway for him to legally sign the benefits over to us?

Answer: No. Whatever the beneficiary clause reads, on the engagement of death, is how it reads.

What your uncle can do, is sign off and refuse the benefits, as the primary, and then the contingent beneficiaries - you and your fellow-creature - will get the money. This is the way it should be done - otherwise, he's going to be subject to gift taxes, giving you that money.

Answer: NO insurance institution - including AIG - will "swap" one type of policy for another like that.

You have to reapply for the life insurance. With cancer, you'll be denied. If you be to increase your limit of coverage, you ALSO have to apply for that, and will be denied.

That's why accidental death policies are such a ripoff - most people don't die from lucky deaths.

If you, as a cancer patient, want life insurance, the ONLY way to get it,
