Bank Loan Insurance Mis-sold?

When we took a advance out from the bank a few years ago we were told we could not have the loan without insurance....Is this misselling?

Answer: yes it is.

Can anyone tear a strip off me where I would find information about how much a certain company has been fined for misselling PPI? UK only please.

Answer: Look on the FSA website http://www.fsa.gov.uk

Then search for the associates in the FSA register and look for disciplimary action.

The most recent one was HFC fined £1,550,000 -less 30% minimize = £1,085,000.
