Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s portent to halt the state’s dealings with Bank of America Corp. over a shut-down factory in Chicago extends a “perilous” trend of politicians meddling with commerce, a former general counsel of the Federal Place Insurance Corp. said.

Blagojevich, a Democrat, yesterday said the biggest U.S. retail bank won’t get any more state function unless it restores credit to Republic Windows & Doors, whose workers are staging a sit-in.

Answer: Well, let's see. Obama is a public in Washington DC. Politicians in Washington DC are almost all ignorant of how the economy works. Therefore it is a good chance Obama is not up on economics.. He did ballot for the bail-out after all.

The economy is failing because government is in the way. Banks are hording all the money to keep them from failing and are waiting for the compactness to recover first. If they didn't have the bail-out, they'd be forced to lend or fail.
