What Is Travel Cancellation And Interruption Insurance And Why Would I Need It?

My next of kin is planning a vacation for next summer and our travel agent suggested we get travel cancellation and interruption insurance- is it really resulting?

Answer: My determination on getting travel insurance is always predicated on how much I've spent for the trip and how much I'd be willing to lose. Travel insurance is principally not expensive compared to the cost of any given trip, but some people just don't want to pay for it.

However, guess your vacation being interrupted due to a cancelled flight... or maybe you lose your luggage and have to buy some things until they discover it, etc... Travel insurance can reimburse you.

Is It Worth Buying The Priceline Hotel Cancellation Insurance?

I am planning a jaunt to chicago with the name your own price feature. I will be spending in the neiborhood of 480-640 for a hotel for 8 days.

If the amount is 500 or over, should I cogitate on the $40 travel cancellation/interruption insurance? If I don't, I think I am stuck if I have to cancel for illness. Of course it is a vacation, so I would still go unless I had something devistating.

Answer: take it! it's always preferably to have it. Either you lose $40 now or possibly lose $500 later. As a travel agent I have seen far too many people run this down and lose out when something unexpected comes up.

Is Trip Cancellation/delay/interruption Protection(insurance) Necessary And Worth It?

Charge: $15.00 per passenger. Flying to Disney World.

Answer: nope. understand the fine print. you only get reimbursed if you get into a documented auto accident on the way to the airport or have a documented medical brainwash/injury that prevents you from flying.

i think a death in the (immediate) family might qualify too....

Should We Get Trip Insurance?

We are present to Maui in Sept. and we already have trip cancellation insurance (any reason up to 1 day prior) but not trip interruption insurance. It is hurricane season and I am disturbed whether or not we should go ahead and get insurance in case the hurricane messes up our trip.

Is there insurance that helps cover if the trip is interrupted for hurricanes? Has anyone ever gotten it and had to use it?

Thanks

Answer: Solely watch the weather channel. If it looks like a hurricane is in the area, cancel. Why buy both?
